Newbie needs help

Hi all, I am definately a newbie, but am willing to learn, so here goes.
1) what smart card reader would you reccomend.
2) if i clone my card can i use in my house on another box.
3) what smart cards would you again reccomend.
4) what programmes would you reccomend to help with the cloning.

Any help what so ever would be appriciated, i know these questions have been asked before but i am on information over load with answers that conflict.

not sure you can clone a card but card reader;s i have are omnikey and a smergo hope this helps on that subject
