How to get a Vex Mythoclast

The Vex Mythoclast from Destiny 2 is an exotic that's back in Destiny 2. This unique fusion rifle—with a rate of fire close to the scout rifle. Rather than the long charge we're used to from this class of weapon—has led some players to say it was “unfair” and “overwhelming” in the original Destiny.

Debuting in Destiny 2 in May 2021 along with the likes of the Fatebringer, the Vex Mythoclast is a random drop into the Vault of Glass, and its Vex Mythoclast Catalyst requires solving a series of puzzles to unlock it. This page explains how it all works.


The Vex Mythoclast in Destiny 2 can drop after the last encounter in the Vault of Glass. Specifically, after defeating Atheon, it's possible that Vex Mythoclast may become part of that encounter's loot pool. Either the normal version of the raid or the challenge mode will do.

How to get a Vex Mythoclast in Destiny 2

Like in the original Destiny, the Vex Mythoclast is tied to the Vault of Glass raid, but unlike the original, you don't have to play at a higher difficulty to unlock it.
