Avanti Communications entered into a long term bandwidth contract with the Turkish communications satellite operator Turksat. Under the contract, Turksat will commit to 1.8 GHz of capacity on Avanti's Hylas 2 satellite for the next three years with an option to extend for a further 12 months. The contract will start on 1 June and revenues will be spread evenly across the life of the contract.

Hylas 2 is a geostationary high throughput satellite. Hylas, an acronym for highly adaptable satellite, was launched on an Ariane 5 from Guyana Space Centre at Kourou, French Guiana, on 2 August 2012.
