Nordic DTH service Canal Digital lost 9,000 customers in the first quarter, for a total 920,000 at the end of March. Its revenues still grew 0.7 percent year-on-year to NOK 1.128 billion, as positive currency effects offset the lower subscriber base and reduced hardware sales. Adjusted EBITDA rose to NOK 174 million from NOK 165 million a year ago.
Telenor otherwise reported stable results from its satellite broadcast activities in Q1, with EBITDA of NOK 158 million on revenues of NOK 238 million. Digital broadcast operator Norkring grew revenues to NOK 283 million from 245 million, and its EBITDA was up to NOK 140 million from 122 million, thanks to increased DAB roll-outs and installations. Conax, which was divested to Kudelski in March, also continued to grow, contributing revenue of NOK 166 million and EBITDA of 49 million in the quarter.
