Public broadcaster France Televisions and pay TV operator Canal Plus have reached a licensing agreement for the French rights to the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio and 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. France Televisions, the exclusive rights holder under an agreement with the International Olympic Committee, maintains all of its rights and will broadcast live and unencrypted all of the ceremonies and competitions on its various channels and online to all screens. Under the terms of the deal Canal Plus will be able to exploit all of the rights for the two Olympics on the Canal Plus and Canal Plus Sport channels and associated services.
