Brazil ended April 2015 with 19.76 million pay-TV connections, representing a 29.89 percent penetration rate, according to data from the National Telecommunications Agency (Anatel). The total number of subscribers is stable compared with the previous month. DTH subscribers dropped from 12 million in March to 11.9 million in April, while FTTH subscribers went up from 111,202 to 116,620 in the same period.

Cable modem connections went up from 7.62 million to 7.66 million. In the national ranking, America Movil group (Embratel, Claro and Net) ended April with 10.22 million active connections (10.26 million in March). Sky/DirecTV was second with 5.72 million (5.68 million in March), followed by Oi with 1.20 million (1.23 million in March). GVT had 958,939, followed by Telefonica with 798,743.
