Semiconductor products provider Broadcom has won a contract from South Korean satellite broadcast company KT Skylife. The Korean company has deployed an Ultra HD set-top box built on Broadcom's single chip HEVC 4K/Ultra HD satellite service, the BCM7376. Using the Broadcom chip, KT Skylife can deliver Ultra HD content directly to subscribers' homes.

Broadcom's single-chip BCM7376 delivers 60 frame-per-second (fps) video with 10-bit color at 4X the resolution of conventional HD displays, allowing users to view life-like Ultra HD content on multiple devices. Broadcom's BCM7376 is in production. The Broadcom-enabled STB from KT Skylife will be available starting with 1 June.
