UAE and UK satellites will work together to support many Dubai projects, including smart government schemes, UK officials told Gulf News. DubaiSat-2 and Deimos Space UK's Deimos satellite will cooperate to feed information to the Dubai government, said Philip Davies, MD of Deimos. Both satellites can take high-resolution images of Dubai periodically to monitor the changes in buildings, roads and new constructions, agricultural areas, vegetation, and water in reservoirs, he said. That information will help the government in its projects, including smart government, the executive said.

The one-year project is expected to start on 01 June. An agreement on the project will be signed in Abu Dhabi on 27 May, Davies said. A spokesperson for Mohammad Bin Rashid Space Centre (MBRSC) told Gulf News that the UK Space Agency would sign the agreement with Deimos Space UK. MBRSC is the UK Space Agency's International Partnership Space Programme (IPSP) Partner and will collaborate on the project, the spokesperson said.
