African broadcaster Channels Television has officially launched its news and current affairs station, Channels 24, in the UK. Channels 24 will air African and international news and current affairs content, covering politics, business, sports, entertainment, lifestyle and health. It will first air on Sky Channel 575 but the station will come to Freesat and Virgin Media soon.

The launch is part of Channels Television's strategic plan to move its regional broadcasting to a global level. Channels Television is based in Nigeria and was founded by John and Olusola Momoh over 20 years ago. With an audience of over 20 million viewers in Nigeria, Channels Television is already one of Africa's largest private sector media outlets.
