US pay-TV provider Dish Network activated 554,000 gross new subscribers in the first quarter, down from 639,000 the year before, with net Pay TV subscribers down by 134,000. The provider ended the quarter with a total of 13.844 million pay-TV subscribers.

Pay-TV ARPU declined to USD 86.01 from 82.36. Pay-TV subscriber churn went to 1.65 percent from 1.42 percent. Dish also added 14,000 net broadband subscribers in the quarter, bringing its total subscriber base to 591,000.

Revenues in Q1 rose to USD 3.7 billion from 3.6 billion the year before. The net profit jumped to USD 351 million from 176 million.
