UK satellite TV and broadband operator Sky has started updating customers’ Sky+HD STBs to support an improved Planner function for simpler, more intuitive navigation. The most recent recordings and downloads are easier to find, now at the top of the first page instead of at the end of the Planner. Upcoming recordings are in a new ‘Scheduled’ page alongside Smart Series Links which not only records the current season, but also remembers to record all episodes of future seasons when they come back on TV.

Sky also introduced a Delete All button to allow customers to delete whole box sets with a single click. Other updates include Sky Movies and Sky store trailers, a new accessible setting for partially sighted customers developed with the RNIB, and Family setting to hide all adult channels and pin-protect all pre-watershed playback of on-demand content and movies rated 12 or over. Furthermore, the STB’s Eco Mode has been extended by 50 percent and now automatically switches off from 02:45 to 05:45 to save more energy.
