Brazil ended February with 19.71 million pay-TV subscribers, or 1.41 million more than a year earlier. This was equal to a 29.85 percent penetration rate, according to the figures from regulator Anatel. A total 58,000 new subscribers were added compared to January 2015.
DTH continues as the main distribution technology with 12.01 million subscribers or 60.90 percent of the total (60.95% in January), while cable had 7.59 million subscribers or 38.48 percent of the total (38.46% in January). FTTH accounted for 105,776 accesses or 0.54% of the total (0.51% in January).

In the national rankings, the America Movil group (Claro, Embratel and Net Servicos) continued to lead the market with 10.23 million active subscribers (51.90%), followed by Sky Brasil with 5.68 million (28.82%). Oi placed third with 1.25 million customers (6.38%), followed by GVT with 916,655 (4.65%) and Telefonica Brasil with 780,975 (3.96%).
